Do Your Own Testing (DYOT) is a Milwaukee-area powertrain testing company. We help you instrument real parts and gather real data that shows you how your parts perform in the field. With 17 years of powertrain testing expertise, we can help you test not only the powertrain of your products, but how it interacts with the rest of the system, from vehicles to industrial equipment to boats and airplanes and everything in between.
We help you through the whole process, from gathering data out in the field, coaching your team through field testing and data acquisition, through the analysis of the data. Then, if necessary, taking that data and helping develop in-house testing or using our network to help you find a specialist that can help you with your testing needs. Whatever level you’re after, from quick directional numbers to fully calibrated, traceable results, we get you the right data to help you make the best decisions for your products.

The showroom at Gateway Classic Cars is a unique room full of some of the coolest cars from the last 100 years and they are all for sale! We will bring our fleet of test vehicles along and some cool hands-on displays to show you what we do. So come have some good food, and see some cool cars and learn about testing!

D.Y.O.T – Testing, made approachable — and our YouTube channel
We also think testing shouldn’t be a burden and data collection and analysis shouldn’t be intimidating. A lot of the people we work with are very good at what they do, but never were able to gather good actionable data on their products. Many of them have even bought good testing equipment in the hopes that they could gather their own data on their parts only to find out that they didn’t understand the nuances of the systems or that, more likely, they didn’t have time to manage it. That’s where we come in. You make cool products; we help you make them better, or prove they stand out.
That’s also what our YouTube channel is about, and it’s driven by what people actually want to know. At the event we are going to be highlighting some of the projects we have been working on over the last year in preparation of launching a series of videos on our YouTube channel. The really unique thing about it is that most people that have the equipment that we will be using can’t share the data that they are collecting because their company owns it. More importantly it’s generally intended for internal use and product development, so they won’t share it. However, with our channel we aren’t selling any products, just testing services and data, so we can do some of the first genuinely unbiased, commercial-grade powertrain testing shared openly online.
