SUMMARY:2025 Student Night:
DESCRIPTION:SAE Milwaukee Section Student Night is an opportunity for student teams competing in SAE Collegiate Design Series to showcase their efforts and compete for cash prizes. \n\n\n\nCome see the amazing projects the students design and build through the year! \n\n\n\nIn short presentations\, student teams will articulate on their SAE Chapter’s projects\, achievements\, and activities. Professional members will have the opportunity to rate the presentations. This is one of the biggest nights for student Chapters as they have the opportunity to earn significant funds for their projects\, based on industry professionals judging their presentations. A link will be shared for any teams choosing to present remotely. \n\n\n\nHosted by:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, November 19th\n\n\n\nTime: 4:45pm – 9:00pm\n\n\n\nPlease join us at: Marquette University 1637 W Wisconsin Ave\, Milwaukee WI\, 53233: Olin Engineering Building\, Room 202\n\n\n\nEvent Agenda:\n\n\n\n\n(Optional) Vehicle display set up………………………………………….. 4:00pm\n\n\n\nRegistration\, Meet and Greet………………………………………………… 4:45pm – 5:30pm\n\n\n\nDinner………………………………………………………………………………………5:45pm \n\n\n\nAnnouncements………………………………………………………………………6:30pm\n\n\n\nStudent Presentation………………………………………………………………6:45pm-8:30pm\n\n\n\nSponsor Comments…………………………………………………………………8:30pm-8:45pm\n\n\n\nStudent Awards……………………………………………………………………….8:45pm-9:00pm\n\n\n\n\nTitle Sponsor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompany Background: \n\n\n\nB83 Testing & Engineering\, Inc. is an independent test laboratory located in Milwaukee\, WI.  that supports a wide variety of industries by providing vibration\, mechanical shock\, cyclic fatigue\, load/displacement\, field data replication (RPC®)\, environmental (temperature\, humidity\, and altitude)\, thermal shock\, and protective structure testing. \n\n\n\nB83 began ROPS/FOPS/OPS (Protective Structure) testing in 2020 following a strategic acquisition of specialized equipment from a local cab manufacturer that exited its in-house testing due to the need for specific expertise and to ensure compliance with the scrutiny of industry standards.   \n\n\n\nStarting with three cab tests annually B83 has scaled to over 20 tests per year by applying its expertise in structural testing to build a trusted reputation in the industry\, serving OEMs across off-highway\, industrial\, and specialty vehicle sectors. \n\n\n\nB83 works closely with a seasoned industry professional specializing in cab design and structural analysis to support clients throughout the development cycle. This collaboration enhances B83’s ability to provide actionable feedback\, optimize cab geometry\, and ensure compliance with evolving safety standards.   \n\n\n\nWhether you’re validating a new design\, troubleshooting a failure\, or meeting compliance requirements\, B83 provides the speed\, clarity\, and technical depth you need to make confident decisions.  \n\n\n\nAdditional Sponsors:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompany background: \n\n\n\nDeltaHawk was founded in 1996 by Doug &Diane Doers and John (JP) Brooks. Doug was an experienced military and civilian pilot and mechanical engineer\, Diane had extensive business experience\, and JP was an experienced military pilot and American Airlines Captain. Together\, they had the vison to create a modern engine that was cleaner\, more efficient\, and required less maintenance along with bringing improved performance and higher reliability to General Aviation. This highly ambitious project turned out to be substantially more difficult and much more costly than they imagined\, but their stubborn perseverance drove them to continue towards their goal\, long after most others would have given up. Through many years of dedicated effort\, averaging only 2-3 employees\, progress was slow\, with lack of funding being the major impediment to both engine completion and achieving FAA Type Certification. In 2015\, Al and Chris Ruud became aware of DeltaHawk’s situation\, so with their shared vision\, dedication\, perseverance and financial support the engine achieved FAA Type Certification in 2023 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompany background: \n\n\n\n\n1946.
